Camping in Sri Lanka

Camping in Sri Lanka is the most interesting way to stay overnight . It is a memorable experience in the greenish environment in a tropical climate. When we are trekking in the Knuckles Mountain Range, Lamasuriyagama Royal Terrace Rice Field can be camp in many suitable places. Camping bonfire, barbeque, eye opener on request and mat singing party, night jungle walks, early morning get up for sunrise for bird watching is possible. The basic way of camping is mounting tent on a rock, cave, rice harvesting ground or anywhere possible. We are experienced in alternative canoe camping in some safe lakes like Sorabora in the east. Canoe camping is doubled canoe gets tight with a platform. On the platform, mount the camp tent and sleep when floating. Vadda the indigenous people are always helpful for campers. The vadda village is a very good place for camping. But you should be aware about their culture. Wahawa hot spring village is situated close to Vadda village. Near by hot springs can be mount camp with 'hot water'. When traveling from Ella, Buduruwagla in the south is also interesting place for camping.
Tree top huts are used by the farmers in the dry zone and in Kandy terrace rice fields like Lamasriyagama Royal Rice Fields which mentioned above. They are sleeping close to each farms to protect the crops from wild elephants and other animals making good opportunity for you to experience nature and part of culture of the island.
