Vagrant birds in Sri Lanka

A bird is considered vagrant if it strays far outside its expected breeding, wintering, or migrating range. They behave outside their normal range of area. Some Wader spices like Sandpipers and Plovers could be seen here as common vagrants. Sociable Lapwing, Grey-headed Lapwing, Wood Snipe, Swinhoe's Snipe, Great Snipe, Asian Dowitcher, Red-necked Stint, Sharp-tailed Sandpiper, Spoon-billed Sandpiper, Buff-breasted Sandpiper, Long-billed Plover, Oriental Plover, Little Curlew, Slender-billed Curlew has been reported.
